This 8.7/15(17.5)kV XLPE insulated unarmored power cable is developed for medium voltage networks requiring higher operating voltage while maintaining a non-armored cable structure.
The cable adopts compacted copper conductors, XLPE insulation, and copper tape screening to support stable electrical performance in installations where mechanical protection is provided externally.
Both single-core and multi-core configurations are available, allowing flexible application across different medium voltage system layouts.
Conductor System
The conductor is made from plain annealed, Class 2 compacted copper, providing reliable current transmission at elevated voltage levels.
An extruded semi-conductive conductor screen is applied directly over the conductor surface to improve electrical stress distribution.
Insulation and Stress Control
Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation is applied to withstand the electrical demands of 8.7/15kV operation.
An extruded semi-conductive insulation screen surrounds the insulation layer, supporting controlled electric field performance.
Screening and Sheathing
A copper tape metallic screen is applied over the insulated core.
The outer sheath is manufactured from PVC compound, Type ST2, offering environmental protection suitable for unarmored cable installations.
Standard sheath colour is black, with alternative colours available upon request.
