This multi-core XLPE insulated unarmored power cable is designed for medium voltage distribution systems operating at 6/10(12)kV, where installation conditions allow for non-armored cable solutions.
The cable combines compacted copper conductors, XLPE insulation, and copper tape screening to support stable electrical performance in indoor and protected environments.
The assembled core structure improves overall cable geometry and handling characteristics during installation.
Conductor and Core Formation
Class 2 compacted copper conductors made from plain annealed copper are used for each core.
The insulated cores are assembled using PP yarn fillers and secured with binder tape, helping maintain a consistent cable profile.
Insulation and Screening Layers
An extruded semi-conductive conductor screen is applied over each conductor, followed by XLPE insulation suitable for medium voltage operation.
A semi-conductive insulation screen is then extruded over the insulation layer to regulate electrical stress.
Copper tape is applied as the metallic screen, surrounding the insulated and assembled cores.
Outer Sheath
The cable is protected by a PVC outer sheath, Type ST2, providing environmental resistance appropriate for unarmored applications.
The standard sheath colour is black, with alternative colours available upon request.
