This multi-core XLPE insulated unarmored power cable is designed for medium voltage power distribution systems operating at 12/20(24)kV under controlled installation conditions.
The assembled multi-core structure, combined with copper tape screening and XLPE insulation, supports reliable electrical performance while maintaining a simplified, non-armored cable construction.
Core Assembly and Conductors
Each core is formed using a Class 2 compacted copper conductor manufactured from plain annealed copper.
The insulated cores are laid up together with PP yarn fillers and secured by binder tape, helping maintain a stable cable geometry during installation.
Insulation and Stress Management
An extruded semi-conductive conductor screen is applied to each conductor, followed by XLPE insulation suitable for higher medium voltage operation.
A semi-conductive insulation screen surrounds the insulation layer to manage electrical stress across the cable structure.
Screening and Outer Sheath
A copper tape metallic screen is applied around the assembled cores to support controlled electrical field distribution.
The outer sheath is manufactured from PVC compound, Type ST2, providing environmental protection suitable for unarmored cable applications.
Standard outer sheath colour is black, with alternative colours available upon request.
