This 12/20(24)kV XLPE insulated unarmored power cable is intended for medium voltage power transmission systems requiring higher insulation performance under controlled installation conditions.
The cable structure combines compacted copper conductors, XLPE insulation, and copper tape screening, providing reliable electrical characteristics without the use of metallic armour.
Both single-core and multi-core versions are available to accommodate different circuit designs and installation practices in medium voltage networks.
Conductor and Conductor Screen
The conductor is manufactured from plain annealed Class 2 compacted copper to support stable current transmission at elevated voltage levels.
An extruded semi-conductive conductor screen is applied directly over the conductor surface to improve electrical field distribution.
Insulation System
Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation is applied to withstand the electrical stresses associated with 12/20kV operation.
An extruded semi-conductive insulation screen surrounds the insulation layer, supporting controlled electrical stress performance.
Screening and Sheathing
A copper tape metallic screen is applied over the insulated core.
The cable is finished with a PVC outer sheath, Type ST2, providing environmental protection suitable for unarmored installations.
The standard outer sheath colour is black, with other colours available upon request.
